Miss Helen Wills and Mrs Hotchkiss Wightman (U.S.A.) beat Mrs Godfree and Miss Harvey (England) in the Wightman Cup doubles, at Forest Hills 6—4. 4—6, 6—3. Miss Betty Nuttall (England) beat Miss Hele Jacobs (California) 6—3, 2—6, 6—l; Miss Wills beat Mrs Godfree (England), 6—l, 6—l; and by beating Miss Joan Fry (England) 6—2 11—9, Mrs Mallory (U.S.A.) retained the cup for the United States.—A. and N.Z. cable.
