FEATHERED FANCY.

LEGHORN CLUB. ANNUAL AIEETING. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Leghorn Club was held last evening at the Showgrounds, Mr W. Grey, of Palmerston North, presiding over a fair attendance of members. The'annual reported stated: The annual show was held at Palmerston North and that there was a total of 116 entries. It has been decided by the council to hold the 1927 show in conjunction with the Wanganui Show in June next. The finances of the club remain about the same and while a number of new members joined several of tlie old members did not pay their subscription but will no doubt pay them this year, '/’lie prospects, however, are much brighter, as quite a number of new members have joined this season. It h hoped , that each member will do his best to obtain at least one new member this season which would place the club in a very strong position .—The report was adopted as read. Air Scott, in support of a notice of motion that the club’s headquarters .he removed to New Plymouth, stated that to do so would lift a burden from tiie shoulders of the Palmerston North members. The club was of Taranaki origin and the greatest number of new members were from that district. All he wanted was to see tlie headquarters removed to the birthplace of the club. Air A. P. Lister, in seconding the motion, said that balance-sheets and nomination forms had not been sent out up to time. The chairman stated that there was nothing in the rules to state what time the balance-sheet should he sent out. Air Lister replied that the balancesheet should be sent out with the report. Air Bruce, speaking against the motion, said that a good proportion of New Plymouth members were not financial, while the local members always paid their subscriptions regularly. On the motion being put to the meeting, it was lost by a large majority. The election of officers, which was declared at tlie meeting, had resulted as follows: Alessrs W. Grey (president!, R. D. White, J. Nixon, E. Chatfield, G. Ambler, J. Bruce, E. Adams (vice-presidents) and E. Chatfiokl, R. D. White, B. Salmonds and E. Evans (council members). Air Bruce was reelected secretary.
