HOCKEY.
TRIAL MATCH. ARRANGED FOR PALMERSTON NORTH. CHRISTCHURCH. June 15. The New Zealand Hockey Association to-night appointed the following selectors to choose the team for the Australian tour: Messrs S. G. Holland, Canterbury (convener); R. Thompson, Wanganui; and L. C. Kent, Auckland. To assist the selectors, Mr Thompson is to be requested to nick a team from Wanganui, Feilding, Taranaki Dannevirke, Wairarapa and Hawke’s Bay districts to play Manawatu at Palmerston North on a date to be arranged. The Wellington Association’s request for a match with the New Zealand team was agreed to, providing suitable financial arrangements can be made.
