DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIP.

J. G ARDINER THE WINNER, WELLINGTON, April 23. The L 927 tourney for the draughts ohampionship of the Dominion was oonclud k! yesterday. The forenoon and the afternoon sessions were devoted to the playing of 14 games that had got into arrear. J. Gardiner, of . Nelson, won hit. games against Bruce (New Plymouth) and Morris (Southland), and scored draws against Shadbolt (Waikari) and Gibbard (Dannevirke). These further successes gave him the coveted championship, which he now holds for the fourth time. By securing both his games from Gibbard, Boreham (four times champion of New Zealand) tied nith G. A. Brown, of Christchurch, for seoond place. The tie was decided in favour of Boreham by the average system, under which the points are:—Boreham 191$, Brown 1792.
