CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

MONTHLY MEETING. The council of the Chamber of Commerce met yesterday afternoon, Mr M. A. Eliott presiding. Also present were Messrs J. H. Stevens,, TL. Catton, It. A. Noedl W. H. Brown, W. G. Ross, A. T. Bendall, R. V. Mason, T. E. French, J. W. Muir, P. Stuart, W. E. Winks and M. H. Oram. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs H. E. Pacey, J. M. Johnson and H. L. Young. The Consul for Belgium in New Zealand wrote forwarding a copy of the London Times’s trade and engineering supplement dealing with his country and requesting that he be supplied with information relative to Palmerston North.—The secertary (Mr W. McKenzie) reported that he had forwarded two publications dealing with the town. In accordance with a request from the Manawatu A. and P. Association, the council decided to assist in the entertainment of dairy factory managers attending the forthcoming Winter Show, and to place its room at the disposal of the visitors.
