MISSING TRAMPERS.

SEARCH PARTIES FROM i MANGAHAO. (Special to “Standard.”) SHANNON, April 23. In connection with the continued search for the two youths, Desmond Scanlon and Roy Diederich, who set out from Levin last Thursday week; in an attempt to cross the Tararua Range and have not been heard of since, news was received this afternoon that a party of six men, fully equipped with rations and bandages, left Mangahao this morning and proceeded. to Avalanche Clearing, which it is hoped to reaclj on Sunday morning. At daybreak to-morrow another relief party will leave from Mangahao provided with extra provisions, and will journey to the same place from another direction. The search party that lett this morning were all picked men from the Public Works Department and sufficient food has been taken to last four days. Mr T. A. Johnstone, engineer in charge of the Public Works Department, will he at the head of the second party which leaves to-mor-row and all arrangements have been made for both bodies to unite at Avalanche Clearing to continue the search.
