HARRIER CLUB.

Amateur athletics in this district have advanoed a great deal in the past seasons, and the time is now considered opportune to extend the sport to croea-oountry running. To further this object a meeting of all those interested in the formation of a harrier club are invited, by advertisement in our columns, to attend a meeting to be held in the Kosy Hall on Thursday evening next. Many of the leading distance runner* in the Dominion, including R. A. Rose, New Zealand and Australian champion, have come into the limelight through harrier clubs and it is hoped that the followers, of the sport will attend the inaugural ihg and assist m providing healthy outdoor sport for both Wednesday and Saturday afternoons. The harner season in Wellington is-now in full swing, thesix clubs all report increased jaamberahipa.
