REPAYMENT TO ENGLAND
PARIS, April 6. It is reported that the Bank of England has Accepted the offer of M. Moreau, Governor of the Bank of France, for the prompt payment of £33,000,000, the balance of an advance of £55,000,000, t.nd the restoration by the Bank of England of £18,000,000 in gold deposited as security therefor. It is presumed that the Bank of France is anxious to' repay the debt earlier than arranged, and recover the gold in order to strengthen its financial position preparatory to the stabilisation of the franc.—A. and N.Z. cable.
