DRAINAGE WORKS.
, £IO,OOO POLL TO-DAY
< For the second time within two months the Manawatu Drainage Board to-day is taking a poll on a proposal to borrow £IO,OOO for 20 years at 6 per cent., for the purpose of improving the Mangaone stream, joint outlet, Whisky Creek, Burke’s Drain, Boundary Drain and Main Drain. At the last poll, taken on February 24, 283 votes were cast for and 207 against the proposal which was lost as the majority lacked the required number. Polling to-day commenced at 9 a.m. and was to close at 6 p.m.
