NAVAL DEFENCE.
MR BRUCE’S SPEECHES. CANADIAN PREMIER’S ANGER. LONDON, March 1. The National Review, commenting on the anger of Mr MacKenzie King, the Canadian Premier, towards Mr Bruce for the latter’s speeches on naval defence while in Canada, says that Mr Bruce was within his rights in discussing something of moment to every subject of His Majesty. “The fact that Mr Bruce put out of joint the noses of oertain peanut politicians in and anound Ottawa is less a reflection on him than on them.”—A. and N.Z. cable.
