AN ENJOYABLE AT HOME. . . v ' ’.;-A -- i .. t< i t MANY GUESTS . ENTERTAINED. (By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) AUCKLAND, March 1. • H.M.S. Renown was en fete this afternoon when the captain and officers entertained a 'large number of guests at an enjoyable at home. Beautiful weather prevailed. Lines of gaily coloured bunting were strung from bow to stern and the spacious decks presented a festive appearance. Here and there settees and •groups of chairs were arranged. On the quarter deck palms and pot plants were massed at intervals, and from a plot of feathery fern and flowering plants a fountain played. Tea was served from long tables decorated with flowdrs and palms. During the afternoon the ship s band contributed enjoyable musical selections, and dancing to music, from the ship’s orchestra was enjoyed on the quarter deck.
