GOVERNMENT LOANS BOARD. PERSONNEL ANNOUNCED. Per Press, Association. WELLINGTON, March 1. The Minister of Finance, the Hon. Downie Stewart, announced to-day that the personnel of the Local Government Loans Board was now completed. Under the legislation passed fast session the board is constituted as follows: Those officers for time being holding in the public service the offices of Secretary to the Treasury and the Engineer-in-Chief of the Public Works Department, and fiye other persons to be appointed by the Governor-General. The Governor-General has appointed the following: Mr R. A. Anderson, of Invercargill; Mr G. C. Godfrey, of Wellington; Mr W. J. Holdsworth, of Auckland; Mr G. A. Lewin, of Dunedin; Mr S. A. R. Mair, of Hunterville. . These latter appointments will be for a period of one year from April 1. The Local Government Loans Board Act comes into operation on April 1 and it is intended to assemble the board immediately in order to decide on the formal procedure, so that there will be no delay in dealing with local authority applications. The chairman of the board will be Mr' Hayes, Secretary to the Treasury. Mr Anderson is a well-known busi-ness-man of Invercargill and at present is manager of the J. G. Ward Company, a member of the Southland Power Board and the Bluff Harbour Mr Godfrey was assistant Undersecretary of the Public Works Department until 1923. He was one of the original members of the Highways Board and is now permanent head of the Marine Department. Mr Lewin is Dunedin’s Town Clerk, and is looked upon as an authority on local body finance. Mr Holdsworth is a merchant of Auckland. At present he is chairman of the Electric Power Board. Mr Mair is epgin _'f to the Rangitikei' County. He is a past president of the Society of Civil Engineers and a member of the Engineers’ Registration Board.
