BRITISH EX-SOLDIERS.
VOCATIONAL TRAINING.
NUMBER TAKE UP FARMING. Received March 2, 12.10 p.m. LONDON, March 1. Sir L. Worthington Evans, Secretary of State for War, in reply to a question in the House of Commons, said that approximately 1320 ex-sol-diers had been vocationally trained at Catterick, and of these 410 had been given instruction in farming pursuits, and out of this number 190 had emigrated.
The War Office had not called for reports on the latter, but a number of favourable reports had been received. —A. and N.Z. cable.
