MAORI RUGBY TEAM.
WIN IN BRITISH COLUMBIA. DEFEAT UNIVERSITY. VANCOUVER, Feb. 2. The Maoris defeated the University of British Columbia by 12 points to 3. Four thousand spectators witnessed the contest, which was clean and fast and frequently brilliant. The University held the New Zealanders for 11 minutes before the first try was registered. Before the end of the half, twe more tries were added, none of which was converted. in the second half each side scored a try. Thte visitors declare that the University's tackling equals any they have encountered. It earned University the right to play five men in the All-Col-umbia team match next Thursday. For the Maoris, Gemmell, Manihera, Tatana and Grace scored tries. For University "Wells scored.—A. and N.Z. cable.
