BRITISH LOAN.
FAVOURABLE IMPRESSION. LONDON, Dec. 30. The conversion loan met with favourable reception on the Stock Exchange, causing firmness in all gilt-edged securities. An attractive feature is the sinking fund. Purchases will improve the price of new stock, while the probability of a generally downward trend in interest rates will also make it popular.—A. and N.Z. cable.
