BUSH WORSHIP.
SERVICE IN A DAM. ALTAR FROM PACKING CASE. MELBOURNE, Dec. 29. Christmas church service and the administration of the sacrament at tho bottom of an empty dam, 10ft. below ground level, with no covering overhead and a shade temperature of 110 degrees, was the experience of new settlers at Yarramba, on December 25. Tire bottom of the dam was covered with tapestry and carpets, and chairs were brought from the homes of settlers nearby. An altar was improvised from a large packing case, covered with linen and tapestry. Most of the congregation were members of the Now Settlers’ League of Victoria. Their last Christmas was spent amid snows of England.
