MIRAMAR TOURNAMENT
The New ’Year tournament of the Miramar Golf Club (Wellington) attracted golfers from many outside districts as well as the local clubs, and with favourable weather and the course in good order the tournament has been very successful. Tho four semi-finalists in the championship are R. Wagg (Hutt), J. M. Hussey (Wanganui), J. L. Black (Hutt), and J. L. Petley (Miramar). Wagg plays Hussel and Black plays Petley. The final will be decided this afternoon. The group finals will also bo played to-day. A bogey handicap on New Year’s Day was won by L. A. Bath, who was 4 up, and a stroke handicap on the same day was halved by W. Flanagan, with a good card showing 76 —4—72, and M. D. Loftus with 81—9—72. The best cards in the stroke handicap included P. D. Daniell 79—4—75, and in the bogey handicap the same player was all square. In the group competition (No. 1, first round) Daniell beat Drake, 3 and 2, and in the second round beat Evans 4 and 3. In the No. 3 group, first round, Campbell beat Oram 3 and 1.
