FISHED FOR SNAKE.
\ LIVE FROG AS BAIT. SYDNEY, Dec. 23. Tlie \ecretary of Tallangatta Shire (Mr \V. H. Haddock) discovered a snake uSti tlie vicinity of his residence, out it escaped into a log embedded in the ground. Failing to dislodge the reptile, Mr Haddock baited a fish hook with a live frog and poked it into the opening- ,v.:
The ruse was suctessfn “rose” to the bait an'.kg and killed.
Snakes are plentiful]! summer, but although! have been bitten no fall suited. Every househcl with the usual antidot-! tives.
A valuably greybount by Mr Joseph Loftus, 1 Tallangatta, died from snakebite recently. i
