SCULLING RACES.
SUCCESS OF OTAGO CREWS. MELBOURNE, Oct. 31. The regatta was rowed in the face of a strong head wind. In the fouroared race, in the firstheat, Otago beat Melbourne University. There was only two starters. Otago led all the way, pulling up with fifty yards to spare. Time, 6min lisec. In the final Otago beat Hawthorn (Victoria). Again there were only two starters, and Otago once more led all the way, winning easily by four lengths. , ■ , In the two-oared race, in the final, Otago repeated its previous performances, leading from start to finish and winning easily by five lengths from Hawthorn (Victoria). The visiting New Zealand crews outclassed the opposition on each occasion and scored popular victories.— ; Press Association.
