RANGIOTU.
[From Our Own Correspondent.] The Tiakitahuna Amateur Operatic Society presented their three-acc comedy entitled “The Rising Generation" on Wednesday evening oeforo a -wellfilled hall. The visiting company, though hampered for stage room, presented a most enjoyable entertainment, and are to be highly congratulated on the way all the members lived up to their parts. At the' conclusion of the performance supper was handed round, after which a few dances were indulged in. Mr H. Simmonds heartily thanked the performers for their appearance in Rangiotu, thereby assisting very materially the school committee in the purchase of jerseys for the boys’ football team. J-iearty cheers were given for the visitors, Miss McKenzie and Mrs Lovelock. The characters were as follow: Emily Entwhistlo (Geoffrey's wife), Mrs T. Rowlands; Ruddifer (butler at Entwhistle's), Mr H. Voss; Geoffrey Entwhistle, Mr D. Rowland; Warwick Entwhistie (his son), Mr L. Bindon; Winnie Entwhistlo (his daughter), Miss L. Neilsenj Vane Harpendon (Winnie's friend;, Miss D. Passey; George Breese (Warwicks friend), Mr H. McEwen; YValter Morell, Mr E. Vautier; Selina Morell (Walter’s sister), Miss J. Ferguson ; Mrs Doddrell (cook at Entwhistie’s), Mi6s A. Edwards; Felix Andrews (next-door neighbour), Mr F. Garner; John Morell. (Walter and Selina’s father), Mr J. Hawk;, a late arrival, Airs D. Buchanan. The orchestral music was supplied by Aliss AlcKenzie and Mrs Lovelock, while the scenery and effects were under the management of Air E. Neilsen.. Mr E. Gorlett played pxtra dance music.
