TERROR IN ITALY.

TREMENDOUS INUNDATIONS. BRESOIA (Italy), June 17. Three hundred persons are homeless, one is dead, a central hydro-electric plant has been destroyed, several towns are inundated and inestimable damage has been wrought by the overflow of several rivers due to incessant rains. Terrific rainstorms in tlio Oglio and Dezzo River regions have caused these waters to rise above their banks, ruining the electric plant at Mazcunno and causing the death of Pedrocchi Poalo, a worker.

In tlie same vicinity three hundred villagers are homeless. The rushing waters washed out a bridge near Darfo. The Alessandria Valley has been inundated by the overflowing of the Bormida, Tanaro and Po rivers. Four small towns—Nizzamon, Ferrato, CaneJJi and Isaloniellina—have been wiped out, but no casualties have been reported. A violent hailstorm broke out _in Veronica. The Agde River, flowing through the ■ section, has flooded the villages' of Campagnola and Basso.
