LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
REQUEST REFUSED. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 23. At a meeting of the oouncil of tire New Zealand Rugby League last night tho chairman, Mr Oarlaw, stated that a request had been received from Wellington for permission to include Carroll and Desmond, of Wellington, in the South Auckland team to play Auckland to-morrow, and ho had taken upon himself, time being precious, to refuso the request, as ho thought it unfair to dissociate any of tho Waikato players. Tho chairman’s action was confirmed. It was decided that all delegates should seek information from their leagues as to the prospects of any parties accompanying the New Zealand touring team.
