“HEARD A MILE AWAY.” ,
. - MELBOURNE, June 15. A prosecution under the by-law prohibiting street noises was launched against John Smith, marine collector, at the Prahran Court to-day. A constable stated that Smith was calling out “Bottle V’ in a voice that could be heard a mile away. Witness said that Smith’s voice grew louder as he grew older. The case was dismissed, the Bench holding that tho by-law was not for dealing with such persons.
