RANDOLPH ROSE.
WINS TWO MILES MATCH. LONDON, Juno 23. Randolph Rose, the New Zealander, in a challenge match of two miles, at Brighton, against the southern fourmile champion, Muggridge, won by inches in the last few yards. Time, 9min 32 3-osec. Rose and Muggridge both started off scratch, and keenly contested every step. They sprinted, all out, side by side, for the last 300 yards.—A. and N.Z. cable.
Nurmi’s best time for two miles is Bmin. 58 2-ssecs, which he recorded on an indoor track in the United States at the beginning of 1925.
