“THE POISON CART."
WINE AT A DANCE. MENACE TO COMMUNITY. TENTERFIELD, June 16. 'William Lauder, a well-known wine licensee of Tenterfield, was found guilty at the Police Court on a charge of selling liquor at Bungulla on May 28 last, the night on which John Harold Harvey was killed, and was fined £4O. The Police Magistrate (Mr Perry), in imposing the fine, said that a person who took wine to a country dance for selling purposes was a menace to the community, and he intended to make an example of the case before him. In evidence defendant admitted that his ;car was known" as “the poison cart.”.
