WOMEN MIGRANTS
MOST SUITABLE CLASS. OPPORTUNITIES IN DOMINION. DISCUSSION AT CONFERENCE. (By Electric’ Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received June 24, 11.5 a.m. LONDON, June 23. Tho suggestion that, in view of the preponderance of men in New Zealand, it was perhaps rather dangerous for the authorities to encourage the migration of domestics rather than educated women, was made by a lady delegate to the British Commonwealth League Conference on Empire migration after an address by Mr Sandford in regardto tho opportunities for women in New Zealand, wherein he pointed out that such opportunities were primarily domestic.
Mrs Corbett Ashby, who presided, agreed with the delegate’s view and suggested that university women should be encouraged to emigrate.—Reuter.
