GIRL DIES
HER LIFE FOR HER FRIEND
FELL OUT OF TRAIN,
MELBOURNE, June 14,
After three days of suffering. Miss Kathleen Richards, aged 25, of Canterbury road, Toorak, died in Melbourne Hospital shortly before 1 a.m. to-day from injuries received when she was struck by an electric train at Richmond Station, in an. attempt to save her companion, on Friday night. Mr Alan Tomkin, who was travelling in tlie train with Miss Richards, stepped out of the door on the wrong side of tlie carriage. Miss Richards, seeing he must fall on tho permanent way, clutched him, but was dragged out with him in front of another train, which seriously injured her and stunned Tomkin.
