Among the chief offenders in this respect is the Railway Department and many protests have been made in Auckland against unsightly hoardings bn railway property. Now one comes from Whangarei. The Borough Council there received an intimation that the railway advertising office intended erecting two signboards at a point where a determined effort has been made to create a beauty spot round the site of the war memorial.
