PALMERSTON NORTH SOCIAL CLUB.

The usual fortnightly euchre and dance of the Palmerston North Social Club was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall last evening when there were 40 card players and 80 dancers present. The winners in the card section were as toF low—Ladies, Airs Butler (701 b bag of sugar), Mrs Oliver (221 b bag of flour) ; men, Air Martin (quarter ton of coal), Mr lc Cheminant (bag of coal). The dancers were kept in a merry mood by the inclusion in the programme of several novelty items which were well received. The lucky circle dance created intense interest, six couples receiving trophies. The fourth round in the jazz competition . was . danced, the selected couples being: Aliss Chatfiekl and Mr Paddy and Aliss Hodreif and Mr Fairy. A dainty supper was dispensed bv the ladies’ committee. A very pleasant evening was brought to a close at midnight.
