The detailed figures are: Eighty-three labourers, l 3 en-gine-drivers, four farm hands, three grocers, six motor drivers, two clerks, four ploughman, two married couples, a bricklayer, a tinsmith, a salesman, tw obakers, two foremen, two rabbiters, a carpenter’s apprentice, a caretaker, share-milker, blacksmith and cycle mechanic, with the addition of four housemaids, two waitresses and one general servant.

SITUATION IN AUCKLAND. RELIEVING THE POSITION. [By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.] AUCKLAND, June 22. There has been little change in the unemployment situation in Auckland. The total of men on the unemployed books is now 827. A number of local bodies are undertaking works which will greatly relieve the situation. The Government is also assisting substantially by taking on as many men as possible on public works and railway works.
