Last evening four false alarms were given to fire brigades within half an hour. In every case the fire station was rung up and given precise information as to the whereabouts of the non-existent fires. .

The Mount- Albert Brigade received a call at eight o’clock, the Western District Brigade at 8.15, the Onehmiga Brigade at 8.20, and the Newmarket Brigade at 8.30.
