MANAWATU DISTRICT.

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS.

Mr J. C. Young presided at the ordinary fortnightly meeting of the management committee of the Manawatu Football Association held last evening. Others present were Messrs H. Crouch, C. Taylor, G. Houston, T. Crowe, H. J. Simmonds, J. B. Cooper, E. Kempson, J. Marshall, A. W. Woods, T. It. Lees and T. H. Ewen (secretary). The secretary was instructed to write to the Wanganui Football Association to arrange a representative fixture for July 17. It was decided that the selectors choose the representative team before July 10 and notify tho players accordingly, so that it would be possible to ascertain the correct personnel before tho team is due to travel. It was recommended that all players be instructed to notify the management committee before the next meeting whether they would be agreeable to go to Hamilton if selected. The estimated expenditure per player is approximately £4. A resolution was carried whereby the executive, plus Mr T. R. Lees, were appointed a committee to consider the possibility of raising a capital sum for the association.

Tho fixtures for tho next two weeks will be as follow: Juno 26: R.S.A. v. Foxton (at Foxtou), St. Andrew’s v. Flock House (at the hostel), Athletic v. Rangers (at Palmerston North). July 3: R.S.A. v. St. Andrew’s (at Palmerston North, Chatham Cup fixture), Flock' House v. Rangers (at Flock House), Athletic v. Foxton (at Foxton). A protest was lodged by tho Athletic Club against the R.S.A. Club for playing a senior man in a junior eleven at Flock House a fortnight ago, but after quoting the rules it was resolved that tho protest was not in order and could not be considered.

In answer to a question in respect to the charge for admission to matches as regards players, it was made clear that 13 members of each team would be admitted free, but other emergency players would Ire obliged to pay tho amount required. The parent body wrote relative to the draw for the'Chatham Cup competition and notified the association that the winner of the Palmerston North area would meet the champion team of the Wanganui area, locally, on July 24.—Received. Tho New Zealand Association also acknowledged receipt of an enquiry made in respect to the draw should a drawn game result between South Auckland and Poverty Bay after 10 minutes’ extra play each way. and stating that the match would then be played between Manawatu and Wanganui, but should the match result in a win for. the holders then Manawatu would be obliged to travel to Hamilton. It was mentioned that tho rules for'the Brown Shield were now being printed and would be forwarded in due co u rse.—Itece i v ed. Tho New Zealand Association also wrote in respect to.four footballs which had been forwarded to bo used for school purposes and leaving It to the discretion of the committee to allocate them to various teams. —It was decided to write and thank the parent body for its gift. The general minutes of tho New Zealand Football Association’s meeting on Juno 9 were received. Accounts totalling. £1 7s 8d were passed for payment.
