MANGAHAO POWER.
SCANTY RAINFALL. SYSTEM "AFFECTED. Per Press Associition. WELLINGTON, June 11 Owing to scanty rainfall, the Mangaliao power system is affected. The level of the water in tho dam has been falling, and a call has been made on the Evans Bay, city station, and Palmorston North station, to assist at the heaviest periods A big increase in consumption has brought the demand on Mangaliao up to capacity. This will bo relieved when the third dam is completed. A Public Works official states that there is no occasion for alarm; assistance is only required during the peak loads.
