POWER SCHEMES.
DEPUTATION TO THE PREMIER. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Juno 11. A deputation from the South Canterbury Power Board to Mr Coates asked when the second transmission line from Lake Coleridge to Timaru would be completed; also for information regarding the development of the second source of supply in South' Canterbury. Mr G. A. Gavey, inspecting electrical engineer of the Public Works Department, said, in reply to Mr Coates, that the second lino would be through by the end of August. Regarding the second source, Mr Coates stated that, according to calculations, the next installation should be started in 1927. It would be a mistake to say definitely whether it would be in South Canterbury or not, as all data must be examined.
Replying to Mr Rolleston, Mr Gavey. said that the new Lake Coleridge unit would be operating in July.
