PALMERSTON NORTH CLUB. ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report of the Palmerton North Botvling Club, the second since the reconstruction of the club, is as follotvs:—“We .commenced the season Avith 60 active members, and although all nominated did not complete their proposals, Ave closed Avith a membership of 65. The committee urges the necessity for every proposer to see that his nominee completes his subscription. A small loss on the year’s A\ r orking is disclosed in the bal-ance-sheet. This is due to the increase in general maintenance, wlich Avas nearly £4O more than the previous yea.r. The executive confidently anticipates a reduction in the debentures at the close of next year. As in the previous year, inter-club games were played during the season, and did much to foster the social spirit of the game. The British boAA-lers avlio toured Ncav Zealand last season Avere entertained by the ManaAvatu Boavling Centre on the club’s green. The visitors expressed themselves delighted Avith the playing conditions. During April 14 rinks from the centre visited Wellington, our club being Avell represented. The club is to bo congratulated upon its members’ success in the annual Easter tourney, seven rinks entering of Avhicli three participated in post section play, the teams skipped by Messrs Crump and Needham filling third and fourth place respectively. The executive lias again to record the club’s loss in the death of some of its members—Messrs F. MoAvlem and J. O. Batchelar (expresidents), W. J. B. Jolly H. McEwen and C. H. Allen having crossed the Divide during the season. The members’ sympathy has been tendered the relatives of the deceased. Thanks to the efforts of our green superintendent avo again enjoyed one of the best playing areas in the district. On behalf of the members, the executive places on record its appreciation of the efforts of the ladies Avho dispensed afternoon tea. Their presence on the green contributed greatly to the social Avellbeing of the players.
