PLUNKET SOCIETY
ANNUAL MEETING OF LOCAL BRANCH. ADDRESS BY MINISTER OF HEALTH. \ The fourth annual meeting of the Palmerston North branch of the Royal New Zealand Society for the Health of 'Women and Children was held in the Municipal Hall last evening, Mr A. J. Graham, chairman of the advisory board, presiding over an attendance of about 20 members. Also present was Hon. J. A. Young, Minister of Health, who received a cordial welcome from the chairman. An apology for absence was received from Sir Truby King, who wired as follows: “Best wishes for your annual meeting from wife an self. Both very 6orry unable to attend.” In formally moving the adoption of the annual report and balance-sheet, which have already been published, the chairman congratulated the society upon its excellent position and on the splendid work that it was doing. He felt sure that the results of the society’s work were very gratifying to the nurses and all others actively engaged. Whyte seconded the motion, which was carried without further discussion. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: Patroness, Mrs F. J. Nathan; president, Mrs A.
