Rev. G. W. Dent left on Monday last for Christchurch, whero he will remain for a fortnight on holiday.
Miss Doreen Saunders, of Palmerston North, a talented young elocutionist, came in for some very lngh commendation at the Napier competitions this week. Speaking of her performance in the recitation for girls under 16, the judge was ser.v emphatic in his praise, and said that the marks he had allotted her were the highest awarded up till then in the competitions.
