A FORTNIGHT’S PRAYER.
CABARET CLOSING CRUSADE
CHICAGO, March 30. Under the "Orusauors 1 " banner 1000 churchir.cn and women have spent a fortnight praying before the doors of 20 road houses, which allegedly sold strong drink. Crowds of revellers collected nightly at these resorts to watch the crusaders and consequently the houses did roaring business. All these road houses, which arc really wayside cabarets, are situated within a 20-mile radius of the city, the majority being out along tho lako shore. When the houses did not close, the crusade was abandoned.
