ESCAPED FROM ZOO.
KANGAROO AT LARGE. FRIGHTENS KENTISH PEOPLE. LONDON, April 7. A kangaroo, which escaped from a private zoo at Deal, spent three days and nights roaming through Kentish villages, and alarming the inhabitants, most of whom had never seen such a creature. Several times the kangaroo held up motorists ill the night-time, bounding away before they were able to identify the mysterious “springheeled Jack.” The kangaroo was finally recaptured.—A. and N.Z. cable.
