ADDINGTON MARKET. BETTER PRICES FOR FAT STOCK. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 7. At tho Addington market fat stock advanced in price to-day, particularly fat cattle, oni account of the reduced entry. There was a big 'store sheep yarding, comprised mostly of ewes from the North Island.

Store sheep: Good class ewes sold at up to previous rates, but most of tho North Island ewes, which dominated the section, sold slackly, some ewe lambs being the exception. Tho adult northern ewes were of-poor quality. Forward lambs and wethers sold briskly, but medium lambs weye harder to. quit. Forward rape lambs 22s to 24j> 6d, medium lambs 19s to 2ls 6d, small lambs 17s to 18s 6d, inferior lambs 15s to 16s 9d, lialfbred ewe lambs 25s to 28s Id, crossbred ewe lambs 24s 6d to 26s 6d; two-toothed three-quarterbred ewes 28s 6d to 335, cull two-toothed three-quarterbred eWes 24s to 27s 6d, four, six and eighttoothed Romney ewes 28s 6d to 3ls, four, six and eight-toothed crossbred ewes 25s to 28s, low-conditioned four, six and eight-toothed crossbred ewes 20s to 235, failing-mouthed crossbred ewes 18s to 22s 6d, four and five-year-old halfbred ewes 23s 6d to 27s 6d, failing-mouthed halfbred ewes 18s 6d to 235; four, six and . eiglit-toothed halfbred wethers 23s 6d to 28s 6d, twotoothed halfbred wethers 23s to 255, two and four-toothed halfbred wethers 22s to 265. ,

Fat lambs: 2100 were entered, and a keen sale resulted at up to schedule rates, BJd to lOd for 42-36’s being paid. Extra heavy lambs to 33s lOd, prime heavy 29s 6d to 325, mediumweight 28s to 30s 6d, inferior 25s 6d to 27s 9d, store 23s to 255. Fat sheep: An average entry and a keen sale, best classes being above export rates. The advance on last week’s price was from Is to 2s per head. Extra prime wethers to 40s I'd, prime 33s Od to 365, medium 30s to 335, light 20s to 29s 6d; extra prime ewes to 32s 7d, prime 2os 6d to 28s 6d, medium. 23s to 255, light 18s 6d to 21s 6d, aged 13s to 18s.

Eat Cattle.—34o entered, being over 100 less than the average. A7alues wore up by 30s to 40s per bead for all good class stuff. Choicest beef made to 46s per 1001 b.; good prime 40s to 445; heavy beef, 37s 6d to 39s 6d; medium, 34s to 375; and rough down to 22s Gd. Extra heavy steers to £l9 17s 6d; heavy steers, £ls 15s to £18; prime medium-weight steers, £l4 10s to £l7 15s: medium quality steers, £ll 5s to £l4; light steers, £8 to £lO 10s; extra prime heifers to £l6 17s Od; prime heifers, £lO to £l2 10s; ordinary lieuers, £i 15s to £9 15s; light heifers, £7 10s; extra primo cows, to £l6 M, prime cows, £9 to £ll 10s; meaium cows, £7 to £9; light cows, £5 5s to £6 15s; rough cows, £4 to £5. Vealcrs. —A small entry and a keen sale. Runners, to £7. Store Cattle.—A scratch yarding of cows, which did not sell as well as last week.■ Dairy Cattle. —A good sale, the entry being small. Best springing cows, to £l4 ss; medium, £7 to £9 10s; best heifers, £8 to £ll ss; medium, £5 to £7.

Fat Pigs.—Last week’s rates were maintained. Choppers, £3 10s to £7 8s 6d; baconers, £3 15s to £6 10s; average price per lb., BJd to 9id; porkers, 60s to 735; average price per lb., Od to 9Jd. Store pigs: A dull sale and lower values ruled. AVeaners, 6s to 14s; slips, 16s. to 225; small stores, 24s to 295; stores, 30s to 50s.

STOCK AIARKET. Abraham and AA’illiams, Ltd., and AA’right, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report on their Johnsonville stock sale, held yesterday: —A small yarding of both sheep and cattle came forward. Tho quality of the beef was good and sold well. The sheep yarded were only medium sorts, '.the few lambs penned sold freely. Quotations: Ox £l2 12s 6d, £l3 ss, £l3 7s (xl, £lb 10s, to £l4; wethers, 24s 6d, 2os 6d 265, 26s Gd, 27s 2d, 27s 9d, 28s 3d, 29s Id to 29s lOd; lambs, 255, 265, 26s 6d.

Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report having a fair entry of sheep and a small yarding of cuttle at their Mangaweka sale on Thursday, tho Ist inst. Quotations: Small lambs, 9s 6d to 11s la; medium lambs, 12s, los, 13s 3d; woolly w.i. lambs, 14s; 2-tooth wethers, 2is 2d; m.a. ewes, 9s; S.D. rams, 51 guineas.

FROZEN AIEAT AIARKET. Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their Londou agents, dated Ist April, 1926: “Quotations lor lroaen meat are unaltered. The demand is very good, particularly for lamb.”
