HOKOWHITU SCHOOL
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. Last night the Hokowhitu School Committee held tho final meeting of the 1925-2 G year. Mr W. S. Woodroofo occupied tho chair. Others present were: Messrs C. D. Hepburn, J. T. J. Heatley, M. Voss, H. Whitehead" and A. T. Shailer An apology for absence was received from the lieadmastor.
The latter’s report for the month ending March 31 stated, inter alia: “Tho roll number has now reached a total of 340, and tho average attendance for the quarter was 308. Mr Hodge (architect) visited tho school recently and intimated that minor repairs would shortly bo effected.” The following resolutions were passed: “That this committee is quite willing to pay its share in connection with 'the account incurred by tho dental clinic; but suggests that schools should be graded on a pro rata basis; that it bo a recommendation to tho incoming committee to lay pipos from the back portion of tho school to carry, storm water to the pit.” , Correspondence was received from Inspector Stuckey (thanking tho committee for its good wishes) and from the Wanganui Education Board confirming Mr Hodge’s intimation about repairs.
