TRAM AND MOTOR CAR.
COLLISION AT AUCKLAND. OCCUPANTS’ NARROW ESCAPE. AUCKLAND, April 5. Between eight and nine o’clock this morning a Takapun.i steam tram collided with a motor-car, owned by Mr Alfred Brett. The tram was outward bound and the car camo out of Ewen street, a side thoroughfare leading on to tho main road. The engine-driver, on seeing that a collision was inevitable, immediately applied the brakes, but the tram struck the car about the centre, seriously damaging it. Fortunately, the occupants of the car, which was being driven by Mr Percy Brett, escaped without serious injury. Miss Emily Brett received a nasty cut over an eye, wliilo Miss Marjorie Brett suffered slight concussion. Mr Percy Brett was uninjured.
