CHESS
PALMERSTON NORTH v. WELLINGTON.
During the week-end the .seventh annual mutch between the Palmerston North Chess Club and a Wellington team was played in the Workingmen’s Club, Wellington. The visitors were not solely represntative of the Palmerston North Club, for four players from Masterton and five from other places were included. The home team included several Ngaio players. The match proved most enjoyable, most of the games being very hard fought. Tho homo team won on the aggregate by 23 to 19, details being as follow: PALMERSTON N. WELLINGTON.
