FEILDING JOCKEY CLUB’S MEETING.

IMPERIAL SPARK CAPTURES EASTER HANDICAP.

DENBIGH HANDICAP TO RATIONAL.

TJie Feilding Jockov Club’s Easter meeting was brought to a conclusion yesterday, the weather being gloriously fine. There was a very largo attendance, and as on the first day the meeting was admirably managed throughout. • The favourite division did not have a good day, only two being successful, Great Day and Rational. Large fields wore again seen out, and the finishes in nearly all the events were closely contested. The starting of Mr W. Price, with the exception of two races, was good, while Mr J. Cameron hoisted the numbers to the satisfaction of everybody. In the absence of Mr J. E. Henrys the handicaps were compiled by Mr W. Russell.

After the contest for the Kimbolton Hurdles tho stipendiary steward, Mr Wilson, had C. Mason, rider of Mountain Bell, before the stewards for cut-ting-in too quickly, thereby interfering with Sottano and Euchre. The outcome of tho enquiry was that Mason will have to stand down for a month. Appended are details of tho racing:—

Pendennis made tho pace torrid from the jump out, and passing the stand was followed by Slump, Mountain Bell, Matu and Sottano. Along tho back stretch Pendennis led from Matu and Sottano. At tho four furlong peg Sottano ran up to tho leader, and these two drew away from the field. Sottano held a slight advantage and in the run home drew away to win by three lengths, one length between, second aiid third. Time, 2.42.

Billikins jumped out in front of Nastori and Paitonu, but the lastnamed soon joined the leader and this pair led to the straight from Dobbin, Memsahib, Royal Land and Monaghan. Dobbin was in front at the distance going easily, but had to be shaken up to beat Monaghan by a nock, who finished last wide out. Billikins was a length further back; then came Eden Hall and Memsahib.

Imperial Spark piloted the field. out of the straight, Glengariff, Vaward and Alaric following. Along the back Allmariniba graudally improved her position, Vaward having taken up the running from Glengariff and Imperial Spdrlc. Allmarimba and Vaward were the first to turn for home from Glen-, gariff, Imperial Spark, Rouex and Alaric. At the half distance Imperial Spark got through on the rails, and stalling off all challenges won by a length, head between second and third. Allmarimba fourth.

Bill and Great Day. Lieut. Bill beaded Rapid Fire three furlongs from Home and led into tho straight from Rapid Fire, Great Day, Oliinemuri and Royal Elm. Great Day finished best, beating Lieut. Bill comfortably by a good half length, Royal Elm a length away third. Then followed in order Takaroa, Anciior and Oliinemuri.

When the horses had settled down New Moon and Star Shell carried on the running to the straight entrance, where the field closed up. At the distance Benzora came through and, going on, won decisively by a length and a-half from a big outsider in Wiltshire. New Moon was a similar distance away third.
