MOROCCAN WAR.
KRIM’S OFFENSIVE
RALLY OF TRIBESMEN
MADRID, April 2
News from Rabat states that information derived frortii a dozen sources indicates that Abdel-Krim is about to launch a series of heavy attacks upon tho European forces. The opinion is that tho attacks will be in the nature of a peace offensive designed to impress Paris and Madrid with Krim’s strength now that these Governments are considering what concessions are necessary to gain peace in Morocco. It is expected that Ouezzan will be Krim’s principal objective, with thrusts at Tetuan. Friendly natives report that Krim is rallying the tribesmen. French aeroplanes took a picture of Riffian columns advancing. —A. and N-.Z. cable. CONTRADICTORY REPORTS. ~PARIS, April 3. Contradictory reports that Krim is preparing an offensive and that ho is seeking peace are interpreted as showing the indecision of his mind. The Government of France, while continuing its negotiations until there is peace or, no possibility of success, will continue its preparations against a new outbreak. M. Briand, M. Painleve, and Governor Steeg met, and, it is understood, definitely established an alternative peace and war programme. —A. and N.Z. cable.
