UNITED PARTIES’ ACTION.
CANDIDATURE WITHDRAWN
Received April 5, 11.15 a.m. ATHENS, April 4. As the Government rejected their request for a week's postponement of the presidential election so that voting would occur throughout Greece on tho samo day, the United Parties decided not to participate in the election and withdrew the candidature of M. Demerdjis. It was previously announced that, on tho ground that arrangements for the election were not roady in 23 out of 33 districts, it had been decided to bold the election today. for ten districts, and for tho remainder a week later. —Reuter.
