“WORKHOUSE ROMEO.”
LONDON, March 14. Described as a “Workhouse Romeo,” John Stammers, an inmate of Camberwell workhouse, was sentenced to a week’s imprisonment for infringing the regulations by climbing a wall and entering the women’s quarters for the purpose of paying court to an inmate there.
