FATALLY SCALDED
DEATH OF LITTLE BOY. Per Press Association. TE KUITI, April 3. A child one year old, the son of H. 0. Amundson, bushman; of Kopaki was badly scalded on Thursday evening, as ,a result of which he died on Friday evening. Three children were sitting in front of the log fire on which a kettlo had been placed. Tho log rolled and the contents of tho boiling kettle were precipitated over the child, badly scalding him from tho waist downward.
Owing to the state of the roads the father had to wait at Kopaki station with the injured 'child from 7 to 10 o’clock to catch the train, a motor car not being able to get through to Te Kuiti.
At the inquest a verdict of death caused by shock through scalds was returned.
