GOOD FRIDAY.
CEREMONY IN ROME. IMPRESSIVE*”CELEBRATION. Received-April 3, 8.55 a.m. ROME, April 2. Good Friday was celebrated with solemn ceremony in the major Basilica. Numerous visitors attended the ceremony at the Saint John Lateran, where high dignitaries of the Church, Cardinal Pomfili, the arch priest of the Basidica ancl the Vicar of Rome, presided. A long procession through the Basilica was most impressive,, due to the singing of the choir in the Sistine Chapel. The Blessed Sacrament was carried by the arch priest from the altar of Repose. Cardinal Fruhwirtk bestowed indulgence on the faithful.!—A. and N.Z. cable.
