The Dunedin Jockey Club's Cup meeting opened to-day in dull and showery weather. ■ The going was somewhat holding and became heavier after the rain. , The attendance was large and the racing fairly interesting. In the Cup Count Cavour looked in a class by himself and justified the confidence of • the public, who had elected him favourite, by . winning handsomely from Overdrawn.
